The pandemic happened, I got bored. Began to paint postcards, using watercolors, to spread some cheer. It took on a life of its own. I create original greeting cards, including my signature “Demented Squirrel” paintings. A retired public relations professional with 35 years of experience, visual art is a new avenue for my creativity.

I began painting at Thanksgiving 2020. I wanted holiday cards to make my friends laugh. The demented squirrels were an immediate hit. They are now the center of my holiday cards. They bring mirth to often-solemn mailboxes. They are fun to create and bring laughter.

I mail cards to friends, rarely missing a birthday. I began to watercolor paint to create individualized cards. Painting is now central in my daily life. My whimsy is captured by cats, flowers, demented squirrels, wonky unicorns, and landscapes. I paint postcards to mail. My art is about creating and sending joy.
